Biden also focused on school safety during his time in the Senate, when he was the key author of the Gun-Free School Zones Act of 1990, which prohibited knowingly possessing and discharging a firearm on school grounds or within 1,000 feet of a school, with certain exceptions. (In 2016, then-candidate Donald Trump declared that the law merely turned schools into "bait" for violent criminals.
Trump is right. Between 1980 and 1989, there was 30 school shootings. Between 1990 and 2000 (same ten year span), there was 63 school shootings (more than doubled). 2001-2010 there was 88 (almost tripled since Joe’s “brilliant” school safety plan became law). In the 20 years since Joe’s act became law, school shootings rose 5 times what they were at prior (1980-1990). Check the data here. It was compiled by Slate (even the gun grabbers and pro-Biden Democrats can’t deny it, and between 1994-2004 that was under Joe’s very own assault weapon ban that was signed into law, proving it didn’t do a thing).
If you really want to “keep the children safe”, keep the man and his policies away from a position of power. His policies don’t work and never have (unless you’re goal is to incarcerate minorities).
