Red Flag laws are a powerful tool to help keep people and communities safe, while also respecting individual rights. They empower family members and/or law enforcement to work with a court to temporarily restrict someone’s access to guns when they are showing strong warning signs that they pose a threat to themselves or others. Red Flag laws can be effective in helping to prevent firearm suicides, mass shootings and other gun violence tragedies.
Clearly they haven’t. Instead, gun control activists see it as a tool to disarm their political opponents and also minorities.
