#Scamberger: Abigail Spanberger's Bipartisanship Illusion

ree

In the high-stakes theater of Virginia politics, Representative Abigail Spanberger has been paraded around as the poster child of bipartisanship. Her campaign ads beam with promises of unity, her speeches drip with centrist charm, and her accolades... like being named the “most bipartisan” member of Virginia’s congressional delegation... are waved like a golden ticket to the governor’s mansion.

But let’s not be fooled by the glitter, K?

That badge of bipartisanship?

It’s not earned. It’s handed out by liberal institutions with a vested interest in keeping their favorite Democrat palatable to moderates.

Who’s Handing Out the Halo?

Spanberger’s bipartisan crown comes courtesy of organizations like Roanoke College’s Institute for Policy and Opinion Research and GovTrack.us. Sounds official, right? But dig a little deeper and you’ll find that these institutions lean left, both in their polling methodology and in their political sympathies. Georgetown University is considered a progressive breeding ground. Roanoke College’s polls have consistently skewed Democratic, and GovTrack’s metrics reward superficial gestures like co-sponsoring bills with Republicans, regardless of whether those bills actually reflect conservative values.

It’s like giving someone an award for “teamwork” because they passed the ball once. YAY!!

Never mind that they spent the rest of the game hogging it.

Honestly, all of this is very typical of a CIA Spook!

Voting Blue, Through and Through

Spanberger’s voting record is a masterclass in Democratic loyalty. She’s backed President Biden’s agenda nearly 100% of the time.

Her conservative rating from Heritage Action?

A laughable 5%.

Her alignment with Donald Trump’s policies? Barely a blip. (Understandably, you probably read that and said, "Who cares about Trump!" Trust me, I agree, but during THIS 2025 Election Cycle, and her continuous claim of being the most bipartisan candidate, you'd think she'd stand on more than just criticizing Winsome Sears' lockstep with The Don. For example: Trump's current approval rating is a little over 42%. Bipartisan politics would mean that Spanberger's stances would be in agreement with at least quarter to a half of his policies... but that ain't happening, y'all.)

And let's also NOT forget her biggest funders for her campaign(s) are very, VERY LEFT LEANING! Like DGA- DEMOCRAT Governor's Association. Or Reid Hoffman- Co-Founder of LinkedIn and massive hater of all things Conservative, or Glen Tullman- founder of Livongo, Digital Health and Co-Founder of 7Wire Ventures- who loves to invest in Democratic policies since the Obama Era. And even my old friends at Everytown & Moms Demand have made sure Abs gets a pretty penny from them, and we all know that Everytown (Michael Bloomberg) and Moms Demand (Shannon Watts) are NOT middle of the road to anywhere other than whatever gun control they can spark up to put some dollars back in THEIR pockets. (ICYMI: Spanberger Joins Moms Demand Action in Richmond to Support Commonsense Gun Violence Prevention Laws | Abigail Spanberger for Governor)

So, while Abigail may talk the talk of bipartisanship, she walks the walk of a party-line progressive.

This isn’t moderation. It’s masquerade.

Manufactured Middle Ground

Let’s be clear: the “bipartisan” label slapped on Spanberger isn’t about her actual record—it’s about optics. It’s a calculated move by liberal institutions to rebrand a loyal Democrat as a centrist hero, all to win over Virginia’s swing voters. It’s political theater, and the audience is being played.

Spanberger may be running for governor as a unifier, but voters deserve to know who’s writing the script—and whose interests are really being served. Because when the referee is wearing the same jersey as the player, the game is rigged from the start.
