From the Houston Chronicle today:
WASHINGTON — Gun safety groups planning to spend millions to turn Texas blue this year are rolling out their first round of ads, which say COVID-19 isn’t the only public health crisis facing the state.
Everytown for Gun Safety, the Michael Bloomberg-backed group that plans to spend $8 million in Texas this year, is launching $250,000 in digital ads targeting Republicans including Houston-area U.S. Reps. Dan Crenshaw and Michael McCaul, as well as Central Texas U.S. Rep. Chip Roy.
Don‘t take this threat lightly. It happened in Virginia (and we all saw the mess that created):
On Tuesday in Virginia, all three seats flipped from Republican to Democrat-- after a $2.5 million spending spree in the state by Everytown for Gun Safety, a gun-control group aligned with billionaire former New York City Mayor Michael Bloomberg. The investments made the Bloomberg-affiliated organization the largest outside spender in the elections that saw Democrats take control of the state's executive and legislative branches for the first time in a generation.
They‘re planning on spending more than 3 times as much as they did in Virginia (in which they were successfu). This won’t be an easy fight due to the deep pockets and propaganda machine that Bloomberg fuels. And if you resist, they’ll send Kellye Burke after you!
